I now know what steps need to be taken in order to build an addon and already built one in the classroom.  Erik never made us feel rushed through the process, and took time out to help us each when we needed it.  During mealtimes and breaks we would talk further about building addons, or just share general ExpressionEngine knowledge.  Between those conversations, the class, and the manual that we took home, I would highly recommend anybody curious about addon development to take the course.
