Train-ee.com In Print

This morning I recieved word via Twitter that Train-ee.com had been featured in a web design magazine.  So of course I had to dash out and buy a copy for the archives.

The magazine is Practical Web Design or .Net Magazine depending on which side of the pond you are on.

The article is entitled Iconic Design and is by Patrick McNeil of DesignMeltdown.com.  The text reads:

A prime example of visual enhancement and simplification of information is the Expression Engine training site (train-ee.com).  Note that the icons are shown with text telling users where they should point.

Kudos again to Derik Lolli of Shift Design for putting together a design nice enough to get noticed by the print world.  I wanted a design that would get noticed by web people, because they are the target audience for the site - and Derik’s work has far exceeded my expectations in that regard.

Thanks to Ryan Battles of Jovia Web Studio for the heads up.

Very nice… congrats Mike.
I wish we could get that UK magazine here in the states a little cheaper, subscriptions to UK magazine get a w-ee bit pricey.

Congrats! It’s always good to see press about EE. I know $15 for a magazine these days is a bit pricey.

Its crazy that there are two great web design mags from the UK, both of which are $15 here. Perhaps some entrepreneur should try to mimic one of them over here.  It worked for The Office.
