First Anniversary - Thanks So Much!

One year ago today I nudged Train-ee.com live - with hopes of it just covering my costs and maybe an odd dinner out here and there.  Suffice it to say I’ve been all at once both completely blown away and incredibly humbled at the actual response.

In the first year of existence, Train-ee has offered the first ExpressionEngine book, the first EE screencasts, and the first EE classroom training.  Train-ee.com itself has had over 35K visitors, over 200K page views, over 900 registered users and has made hundreds of sales to countries literally worldwide.

The site has been featured on Smashing Magazine, over 20 design galleries, and gets consistent traffic from both the ExpressionEngine forums and Google searches.

On a personal level - this site-that’s-becoming-it’s-own-business is fulfilling a personal dream of mine: Coming up with a unique product or service and bringing that to the market where it both fulfills a need in the marketplace while also earning an income that isn’t based on billable hours.  With the success of Train-ee I now truly feel like an entrepreneur in a way that I never really have with Boyink Interactive - and that’s been incredibly rewarding.

However - the ultimate point of this post isn’t to brag about the success of the site—it’s to thank everyone who has been part of that by purchasing any of the products or signing up for the classroom training.  I hope you can understand the amount of sheer wonder and delight it has been to run this site and be on the receiving end of all the positive response.

It’s not hyperbole to say that it’s been the highlight of my techie career —and I’m excited about what 2009 has in store for both EE and Train-ee.

Congrats Mike! And Congrats Train-ee. The first year is always the most difficult so the fact that you made it is awesome. I look forward to partnering with you more in 2009!
