Design Quotes Needed

Hey - I’m planning some out some new ExpressionEngine learning materials here on Train-ee.com.  Those materials will cover the build-out of a website for a Restaurant and I’d like the design to be original and be done by a member of the EE community.

I am not looking for free or spec work but - in addition to paying for the work - will also credit you as the designer where it makes sense to do so.  The design requirements are listed below and what I am seeking are quotes to produce the deliverables specified.  In addition to the requirements below there may be additional future work required to develop designs for content types not specified in the initial set of requirements.

This design will be used both for some new free tutorials but also for some new commercial tutorials.

Type of Site:
Restaurant with a decently-sized menu and multiple locations, exact type of restaurant as yet unknown.  This may be decided by finding an actual restaurant client or, failing that, be decided by you and I.

Site Outline / Content Types
Home Page
Home page to have considerable space for photography, clean/obvious navigation to locations and menu, and room for social updates (Twitter, Facebook, etc).

Menu
The menu section needs to be able to communicate a rich and multi-level menu, with choices organized both by type (salads, appetizers, etc) but also full multi-course meals designed around holidays.  An example might be a fully-designed Valentines dinner where the complete experience from drinks to appetizers to entrees to dessert is specified for you.

About (static)
I’ll need a standard “content” page with sub-navigation.

Locations
I’ll need a locations page that can accommodate a restaurant with multiple locations with proximity search, etc.

Photo Gallery
I’ll need a photo gallery with category and single-view templates.

Blog
I’ll need a blog with index, single-entry and comments.

Contact (forms)
I’ll need a contact page with form elements styled.

Technical Requirements
One main goal for the resources I’m planning is to show how ExpressionEngine can be used to power a killer front end - so here’s what I’m looking for in the design:

  • Standards-Compliant
  • Responsive (displays well on desktop, iPad, iPhone, Android, etc).
  • HTML5/CSS
  • Browser compatibility: IE9, Chrome, Firefox, Safari
  • Printable via a print stylesheet

Deliverables

  • Option 1: .PSD Files of all templates required to deliver specified content types.  I’ll source the front-end coding.
  • Option 2 (preferred): Static HTML/CSS/JS files comprising the specified content types.

Schedule
Not immediate, not months out.  Sometime over the next 4-6 weeks most likely.

Questions? Ask in the comments below so they’re answered for everyone.

What is the focus on for the restaurant? Is it known for its food or atmosphere? When thinking about large photographs and design, the restaurant could be featured or the food. This would affect layout, feature images, ctas, etc.

At this point - unless/until a real restaurant client is found that would give direction otherwise - my answer would be that the layout should use photography in a way that either/both the food or atmosphere could be featured.
